Points

So in CATZ, each exhibit gains points independently of every other exhibit, being rewarded with a set margin of points for each step in the process, from colour win, to breed win, to final - with bonus points for each level within the finals.

A specific number of points are required to gain the title of Champion, or its equivalent in Neuter/Spay and Household Pet show categories. Likewise, a different scale and a higher aggregate is required to fulfil the requirements of Grand Champion or its equivalent.

In addition, Grand status is dependent upon a minimum number of finals. It was considered that titles beyond Grand Champion were an unnecessary duplication and that a consistent winner could be rewarded with one permanent title to reflect their special level of achievement, not forgetting that cats which were campaigned also had the opportunity of gaining nationally based wins.

Points System (Excerpt from Show Rules - Section 13)

k)

ALL Competitive Titles are based upon either an accrual of points OR a combination of points accrued and finals placements.

l)

An exhibits retains only the score relating to its single HIGHEST placement in each ring, plus one point for every exhibit it defeats, thereby dropping all points for wins below its highest placing.

m)

An exhibit does not score unless it is at least BEST of SEX within a COLOUR.

n)

The following shall be the points score allocated to winners of the listed placements:

An exhibit appearing in ONE ring shall count for ALL rings for the purpose of calculating cats defeated for FINALS and for NATIONAL wins. However, in Colour and Breed wins, the number of points allotted for cats defeated shall reflect the ACTUAL number of cats defeated in that ONE ring.

t)

The “Unofficial Count” is so named, as the OFFICIAL COUNT MAY VARY from the “Unofficial Count” when all results have been verified by the Central Registry and disqualifications or clerical errors taken into account and corrected.

u)

The Official Count will be published along with the names of the highest scoring cats in the Official Publication of CATZ Inc.
